Our Model

CityStep brings teams of college students into surrounding city schools to teach a yearlong curriculum of creativity and collaboration through dance. Our values-based pedagogy is transformative in the lives of both the children and their mentors.

Each teaching year culminates in an original performance about a theme relevant to kids’ lives that they help create. Told through dance, theater, and music, and performed for family and friends, these thematically-unified productions bring together the whole community in support of city kids.

Founded at Harvard by Sabrina Peck, CityStep has since spread organically to other colleges and communities. We have embarked on an ambitious expansion plan with a vision to provide the transformative CityStep experience of creativity and connection to children nationwide.
