A successful culmination of citystep uchicago’s first year!
CityStep UChicago had a wonderful first end-of-year show as the organization’s newest company as of Spring 2025. Voices on May 24, 2025 featured fifth-graders from two Chicago schools. The company ended their first year with 16 college-student teachers and soon to be three community partner schools!

CityStep UChicago got started when two students, Alex Hannett and Emma Rifat, learned about CityStep from a CityStep Yale alum and decided they wanted to bring the program to their campus. They worked with CityStep HQ to research the feasibility of this newest CityStep Company, and had their first CityStep Fundamentals teacher-training workshop in November 2024. They started teaching in the local elementary school in Spring 2025!
